How do we study isolated, inaccessible, and complex conditions? How can we understand something that is complex and out of the ordinary? In today's world where the space for voices is very accessible and has created increasingly complex layers of information, listening practice is an important thing to do in order to provide a more diverse egalitarian space. To understand something isolated we need to take the action of listening freely without pretensions and restrictions. This action will stimulate our psychoacoustic nerves to process them naturally, which is free from the construction of meaning, thus enabling us to digest information in a more egalitarian way and with richer literature. The art of sound is used as a social tool that encourages such action.
Radio Isolasido tries to invite their listeners to unfold isolated things so as to foster acoustic phenomena and a comprehensive understanding through ensembles of narrative and non-narrative sound recordings such as music, poetry, conversations, synthetic sounds, and ambient sound of the nature and social environment in a popular, experimental, and multilingual artistic articulation. Radio Isolasido provides space and time to listen, especially to something unfamiliar or new so that our senses are more sensitive in understanding things in depth.
Radio Isolasido is a temporary radio initiated by Wok The Rock, developed with Gatot Danar Sulistiyanto as a part of the Biennale Jogja XVI.
